Bilge Pumps For Boats

    bilge pumps

  • (Bilge pump) electric pump that pumps out water from a boat. Usually connected to a float switch that makes it turn on automatically if too much water enters a boat compartment.
  • (bilge pump) a pump to remove bilgewater
  • (Bilge pump) A mechanism for emptying the bilge of water. Since all wooden ships would leak to some degree, pumps were always in demand. Spray and waves would only add to how much water a ship took on.

    boats

  • (in general use) A ship of any size
  • A small vessel propelled on water by oars, sails, or an engine
  • A serving dish in the shape of a boat
  • (boat) ride in a boat on water
  • (boat) a small vessel for travel on water
  • gravy boat: a dish (often boat-shaped) for serving gravy or sauce

Where's the driver?

Where's the driver?
Waiting for the boat driver.
Unfortunately, we didn’t get to go anywhwere. Even though we started the outboard yesterday and it ran fine, we got to the boat ramp this morning and it wouldn’t start. Found out the plug didn’t fit into the hole as well as it should, so that was leaking a bit. Also, a dead battery to the bilge pump wouldn’t work. So…not a good idea to try and go out in a boat with a leak and a bilge pump not working.
Will try again next week maybe!

3 Men (and a dog!) in a Boat
Three local Port Glasgow guys from the Newark Boatyard check their craft on the moorings for water in their bilges and pump them out where approptiate. The black Labrador ‘Sasha’ went along with them.
